I hold a degree in industrial business administration from the University of Esslingen (BSc) and a degree in Finance from the University of Bamberg (MSc). I started my career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, but discovered that my passion was actually for purpose-driven and impactful start-ups. I was excited by the opportunity to switch sides to the investor ecosystem.
Before joining the team, I became interested in sustainable clothing and founded my own company. We made clothes for toddlers from merino wool, and were inspired by Icebreaker, who with zero resources built an impactful company providing natural performance alternatives to synthetic based apparel. I also worked for a fitness company, as I believe in personal as well as global sustainability.
I was fascinated by Ananda when they approached me because, working in finance, you can often find yourself at places that make no real impact on the world. Here, I ensure that processes and policies are in place, but I also feel I’m making a genuine contribution to creating a better world.
During a business coaching programme, I realised that I wanted to take a different path from the one most finance people choose. In finance, individuals seldom have a passion for a product, or have a sense of mission. However, this is not the case for me.
If I weren’t working in finance, I would probably coach and teach young people, especially underprivileged children. I would help them to live a different, more fulfilling life.
I love spending time with my kids. I also love sports, as well as skiing and hiking in the mountains, but I also like reading and listening to podcasts. And since part of my family comes from there, I spend a lot of time in Spain.
