My backstory
I come from a family where medicine runs deep — both my parents and my siblings are medical doctors. Following in their footsteps seemed natural, almost inevitable. But I always felt drawn to explore a different journey. I‘ve admired the impact of medicine, my interests were always drawn toward broader horizons and less predictable challenges.
My journey has been versatile, shaped by an openness to experiences that often pulled me out of my comfort zone. I joined a Greenpeace youth group as a child, sparking an early interest in impact. An exchange year in the US followed, where I worked with individuals with special needs. I discovered a new way of making a difference but quickly realized my skills lay more in the strategic, operational side. I also spent some time in Namibia as a wildlife ranger, learning conflict resolution while aiding farmers in living harmoniously with wild cats. The experience, taught me resilience and unique problem-solving skills that only the desert could offer.
After eight months at a university in Hong Kong that taught me the importance of creativity and freedom, I returned to Germany to double major in international business and digital media with a minor in sustainability. My path became clearer when I co-founded a company with friends focused on re-commerce in textiles and sustainable logistics. After selling the company, I pursued an MA in impact entrepreneurship in Lisbon and spent a semester in Norway, as well as a month in Uganda to build a program for female empowerment. During my search for ways to continue my journey, a recommendation led me to Ananda. I immediately recognized it as an opportunity to deepen my commitment to creating meaningful change.
My passion
Controlled chaos. My life has been a mix of unexpected turns, from Namibia’s deserts to student life in Germany. I’ve learned that the best ideas and solutions often emerge in those moments when plans go awry. That’s where innovation often thrives.
I am drawn to diverse places and people, always inspired by moments more than role models—whether working alongside individuals with special needs or learning from the joy they radiate. It’s about finding the value of every experience and turning it into something impactful.
Outside work, I find inspiration in photography, nature, and staying active. My version of a ‘triathlon’ might include coffee, cycling, and capturing a black&white photograph. Hiking, skiing, and biking allow me to reconnect, even when work takes up most of my time. Settling in Munich has been its own adventure, albeit at a slower pace than Lisbon or Hong Kong. But I believe life’s richness lies in staying true to oneself, remaining curious, and embracing the road less travelled.
