Using a modular molten salt process, Nordic Salt Cycle enables low-cost, flexible, and scalable recovery of Critical raw materials (CRMs) from waste and secondary sources. By extracting a wide range of materials efficiently and locally, Nordic Salt Cycle reduces dependence on mining and imports, strengthens supply security, and lowers the environmental footprint of Europe’s mineral economy.

Molten salts are created when salt is heated to a liquid state, enabling powerful chemical reactions. Nordic Salt Cycle harness the power of molten salts to turn end-of-life products, including batteries and permanent magnets, into a viable supply of critical minerals.
